Ride through fortified hamlets

Very pleasant route with a first downhill part dominating the valley from above
and enjoying the landscapes of Val d'Elsa with the Montagnola Senese on the
horizon. Continue through the village of Mensanello and continue down towards
the Ponte di Santa Giulia where you cross in the direction of Strove. Between
cypresses and vineyards you cycle through the valley and start having
Monteriggioni in front of us for part of the route.
Recommended stop at Abbadia Isola with the Romanesque church of great
importance and cross the francigena with the possibility of choosing whether to
continue on the paved road or on a simple white road to the base of Monteriggioni.
After the tour in the perfectly preserved fortified city of Monteriggioni, return
going through Scorgiano accompanied by dry stone walls and you start to climb to
return to Casole.
