Magnificent route for a classic tour of Tuscany visiting cities of art and of historical and
archaeological importance.
Leaving Colle di Val d’Elsa, following for Castel San Gimignano passing by Le Grazie.
The first part of the route will be almost uphill but always with panoramic views that
dominate the adjacent valleys.
The road continues from Montemiccioli to Volterra (the busiest one) and arriving in Volterra,
even those who do not want to go to visit the historical center, will enchant themselves in
front of the Roman Theater.
From Volterra the road climb towards San Gimignano, initially surrounded by olive groves
that will slowly leave the space for the vineyards of the famous Vernaccia.
You get to San Gimignano from above, descending and admiring the so-called Manhattan of
the Middle Ages.
From here the route is easy and mainly downhill for the return to Colle di Val d’Elsa
Val d’Elsa Valley, San Gimignano and Volterra
